Portal 4: Activities that you like and do not like:
Activities that he
liked to do:
Write literary works
where he used all his imagination, magical realism.
He was obsessed with yellow flowers: There were always yellow flowers in his house and on his work table because he considered them good luck. That is why "as long as there are yellow flowers, nothing bad can happen to me". He secured the 1982 Nobel Prize for Literature.
He loved music more than literature: My passion for music is like a secret vice that I almost never talk about. It is part of the deepest part of my private life. All I want are music devices.

It was a big fan of Shakira: After interviewing Shakira in 1999, Marquez declared
himself a fan and wrote that his music "has a personal stamp". When
the film version of 'Love in the Time of Cholera' was made, 'Gabo' asked
Shakira to interpret the main themes of the film.
Bach and Bartok, were his favorite musicians and
Vallenata music, typical of the Atlantic coast of Colombia. Among his favorite
songs was "The crowned goddess", vallenato composed in the fifties by
Leandro Díaz, one of his verses was included as an epigraph in "Love in
the times of cholera."
In his autobiography, Garcia Marquez explains
his fascination with the word and the Macondo concept when he describes a trip
he made with his mother back to Aracataca: The train stopped at a station that
had no city, and a while later the only one passed Banana plantation along the
route that had his name written on the door: Macondo. This word has attracted
my attention since the first trips I had made with my grandfather, but I have
only discovered as an adult that I liked his poetic resonance.
Activities that he did not like to do in his
professional field:
I need the
typewriter, but I would throw it away!.
He never read his books for the second time: After he was sent to print his novel, he read the first copy only once, and never read it again, for fear of wanting to change something.
Gabo did not like to
read: He considered himself a bad reader, because when he started a book and it
bored him, he immediately stopped reading it.
He considered the
film very limited: Despite being a film enthusiast and allowing the adaptation
of some of his works, he made sure that he did not get his best known novel,
'One Hundred Years of Solitude'. Since he considered that the cinema is very
limited and could not show the real essence of his most prestigious novel.
